I highly approve of this article on the steampunk aesthetic and the need to still apply colour rules while operating within the genre. ...

Just finished a uni mid-semester test, so I decided I'd have a bit of break and list down all the stuff I wanted to make... so I'd at least have a list. Alas, I have no moneys at the moment, so this is only a list... but I have very strong aspirations for most of them to come true. :)

Behold! My list of crazy ideas!

Three costumes:
#1: Captain Tah'Vraay of "Looking for Group". Seeing as the creators of the web-comic Looking for Group are attending Armageddon this year, I turned my eye to making a costume of one of my favourite characters: Captain Tah'Vraay. (the female pirate in the last two frames of [link] ) The clothing itself shouldn't be a problem.. and I have discovered a very handy tutorial on making boots from scratch (coz buying those would be EXPENSIVE!) The white wig will have to be bought and then styled, but I'll probably get some good use out of it, so it'll be a good purchase. :) ... the blue skin... :iconserpentinesurrealist: .... help plz? =D

EDIT: HO(ly)SHIT!! please excuse the caps, but... BLACK FAUX-LEATHER BOOTS, KNEE-HIGH, $22!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! ... *ahem* they aren't perfect for what i need but I thought, 22 bucks, and they're comfy as. ... win. :boogie:

#2: Luna Lovegood of "Harry Potter". The midnight screening at IMAX is gunna be awesome!! I already have the fabric I need to make myself a Ravenclaw robe (coz I always considered myself a Ravenclaw, as opposed to every fangirl who loves Gryffindor). The most important part will be the blonde wig (i'm going to have to start a wig collection =P) ... and of course Luna's trademark radish earrings, Butterbeer cork necklace and Spectrespecs. :) Other than that I just need to dig around in an opshop until I find some suitable grey school wear. :)

#3: Necromancer. I am so pumped for next year's Melbourne Zombie Shuffle, having participated the last two years. Upon some thought I wondered how such a large collection of zombies managed to appear so quickly, and in one concentrated area... then I realised... a necromancer raised them all from their graves. :)
I have still to decide on the design... but if I end up finishing Tah'Vraay (#1) in time... I'll be using those boots. =D Depending upon the weather, I may have a cloak/cape... but mostly I'll be keeping to easily washable fabrics... as I don't want to wreck a good costume and get it covered in zombie blood.
Any suggestions for the design?

Other little projects I've been working on:
** My chainmaille. I've been practising Helm Chain, Half Persian 3-1, European 6-1 and Dragonscale and I'm getting quite good at it, if I do say so myself. *is proud*
** Custom made everyday wear. After customising a pair of pants with electric blue ribbon lacing, I thought, why the hell not? :P My current inspirations are :iconporkshanks:'s creations here [link] and here [link]

Understood. :)
Thank you for the offer, but I'll say no to a custom dress design. I need to be working on my OWN designs. =P

You're most welcome! Your designs are beautiful!

I would very much like to create a physical version of one of those designs one day (with your permission of course) =D
